Will MSDhoni the movie break the cricket jinx?

While MSDhoni is nearing it's release date let's have a look at the other cricket based films.
We all are aware that a few films that had cricket as it's backdrop sort of never really turned out to be a hit except for Lagaan, Iqbal but they released 10-15 years before. Off late with films like Patiala House, Dil Bole hadippa and Azhar were not quite successful at the B.O(victory, Hattrick and other ton's of such films).
All of us are pretty aware that films based on cricket do not achieve a blockbuster status.
The recent example is the Biopic Azhar (starring Emraan Hashmi).
The movie based on the real life story of India's captain Mohammed Azharuddin received a lukewarm response at the domestic Box-Office.
So is cricket to be blamed? Obviously not. It is ultimately a director's job to project a good story in a great manner. Luckily for MSDhoni it is Neeraj Pandey.

But apart from it the story with MSDhoni is different.
The audience's usually have a very high amount of expectation from Biopics.
In the recent past, all the biopics released have received a very good response at the B.O(Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom, Neerja etc.) but Azhar failed to conquer on that aspect.
Dhoni is undoubtedly the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team. The movie(going by the tagline 'The man you know..The journey you don't')is giving us a clear picture that the movie will focus more on his past life and not much on his cricket achievements and it instantly makes us all excited about the movie.
The trailer as we know has received a phenomenal response online clearly projecting the interest of the audience in this movie.

What could possibly not go in favor of the movie is it's music(it's kind of stupid but a very important factor for the audiences). The album is extremely disappointing with not even one song as a standout. Runtime also remains a crucial factor. The critics response should be out and out positive otherwise it could affect the films performance.

Sushant has already impressed everyone with his strokes. It's also his solo release after Shudh desi romance(released in 2013). So a lot depends upon him and his potrayal of Dhoni. Supporting cast looks good.
Well this movie has and will continue to create buzz but what remains to be seen is will this buzz be converted into numbers(100 cr club or close to it).
While we are quite clear that the jinx will be broken this time thanks to 'DHONI'. What are your expectations from the film?

AND THE BEST ACTRESS AWARD GOES TO....??

Whoa!
That is a very difficult question to answer as our Bollywood HEROINES in 2015 have given us some really great performances to remember so far. While we still have a few highly anticipated films yet to release (PRDP, Dilwale, Bajirao Mastani, and Tamasha) let's take a look at the performances that have been able to create an impact so far...

1. DEEPIKA PADUKONE

Even though she has two releases pending this year (Tamasha with Ranbir and Bajirao mastaani with Ranveer singh), I certainly feel piku will still be her best performance this year.
Her portrayal of a young, independent Bengali women was well received by the audiences and critics. Also starring Amitabh Bachan and Irfan khan, piku had a BO collections of around 78-80Cr.

2. ANUSHKA SHARMA

NH10 was certainly an edge of the seat thriller.Anushka as Meera was very impressive. She was superb in almost every frame be it when she's flirting, her bodylanguage when she ignores a girl who asks for her help, seeking revenge towards the end....everyframe!!
NH10 had box office collections in excess of 20Cr which is good for a film of this genre.

3.KANGANA RANAUT

Tanu weds Manu returns was undoubtedly one of the most entertaining films of 2015.
It was a treat for kangana's fans to watch her in a double role. She was (for me) average as tannu but PHENOMENAL in the character of datto!
Everything right from her Accent to her look, bodylanguage was outstanding.
One of my favourite scenes of her would definitely be the scene wherein tannu and datto meet for the first time.
TWMR had a BO collection of 150Cr plus.

4. PRIYANKA CHOPRA

This POWERHOUSE PERFORMER was seen in Zoya Akthar's multi-starrer Dil Dhadakne Do.
Despite being a multi-starrer she made her presence felt in the film.PC as Ayesha mehra was flawless!!!
A scene where she confesses the truth about her marriage in front of her family members would be one of her best scenes in the film.I can't think of any other actress who could've played that role to perfection other than Priyanka. HATS OFF!!!
BO collections of DDD were in the range of 76-78Cr.

left to right:priyanka chopra,sonam kapoor,kajol,deepika padukone

Amongst the films yet to release one can surely expect a powerful comeback from KAJOL in Dilwale.
Talking about Tamasha and Bajirao Mastaani, amongst these two films it'll certainly be the role of Mastaani that may get Deepika one of her best performances till date.
Priyanka will also be seen in Bajirao mastaani alongside Ranveer and Deepika as kashibai.
SLB definitely knows how to bring the best from his actors so do expect some killer performances from PC and Deepika.
Sonam kapoor will be next seen in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. One can surely expect that Sonam will deliver her best in this film.

Other notable performances this year would be AISHWARYA in Jazbaa..what a powerful comeback!!, KONKANA in Talvar (I wish she had more to do. But still...), KALKI in margarita with a straw was adorable too!

What do you think who should win the BEST ACTRESS award?????
